The 19th century was dominated by the premise of the classical economy "Laissez faire", but at the beginning of the 20th century come about a historical event that would change the economic realities later on: the World War I. Keynes in the Transformations of an Economy at War is a work that will describe how the economy of belligerent countries will behave in world wars and in turn, will seek to give a critical opinion about how and why Keynesianism responded to the Great Depression with resources of particular similarity to those used by belligerent governments in the World War I.
