Abstract

This article includes a codicological study of three twelfth-century manuscripts that include Latin versions of the Historia regum britanniae by Geoffrey of Monmouth, and extracts belonging to the Latin textual tradition of Alexander the Great, king of Macedon. These three manuscripts have been selected as a case-studies, showcasing the usefulness of codicology for interdisciplinary research in medieval studies. Thus, this article aims to divulge the utility of looking at medieval manuscripts as objects of study in and of themselves.
